FocusCat Privacy Policy
FocusCat is a focus timer and companion app. We collect the information needed to run accounts, focus sessions, progress, optional sign-in, optional Deep Focus features, support, security, and product diagnostics. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use personal data for third-party advertising.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how FocusCat collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the FocusCat mobile app, backend services, and related support channels. If a platform store listing names a publisher or developer entity, that entity is responsible for the FocusCat release distributed through that store.
2. Information We Collect
Account and sign-in information
- Guest or internal user IDs created by FocusCat.
- Display name, platform, app version, account creation time, and last login time.
- If you choose Google sign-in, Google account identifier, email address, display name, authentication token validation results, and related login session records.
- Access tokens, refresh tokens, request IDs, nonce records, and security records needed to keep accounts working safely.
Focus, progress, and gameplay information
- Focus session IDs, selected duration, session state, start/completion/cancel times, heartbeat records, reward claim records, and app exit/return events.
- Deep Focus mode and capability snapshots, such as whether usage access, overlay, notification, foreground service, or battery optimization permissions appear available on the device.
- Companion, inventory, wallet, virtual currency, room customization, catalog, shop, gacha, item-use, unlock, reward, and ledger records used to provide app functionality.
Usage, diagnostics, and operations information
- In-app analytics events such as screen flow, button interactions, feature usage, focus lifecycle events, event timestamps, session IDs, app version, platform, and event properties.
- Server logs, request IDs, error information, IP address, device/browser network metadata, and operational metrics generated when the app communicates with the backend.
- Support notes or support messages if you contact us for help.
Device permissions and on-device processing
Some FocusCat features ask for Android permissions such as Usage Access, Display over other apps, Notifications, Foreground Service, and Battery Optimization exemption. These permissions support a user-started focus guard. FocusCat uses this information to detect focus capability, show blocking return UI, keep a timer service alive, and remind you to return to your focus session. Current FocusCat backend records permission capability snapshots and focus events; it is not designed to upload your full installed app list to our server.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide the focus timer, companion, rewards, inventory, room, catalog, shop, gacha, and account features.
- Authenticate users, link accounts, refresh sessions, prevent abuse, and secure the service.
- Sync progress across app sessions and devices when backend sync is enabled.
- Operate Deep Focus features, understand whether required permissions are available, and evaluate focus completion or interruption.
- Measure reliability, diagnose bugs, improve product flows, analyze feature performance, and operate admin/support tools.
- Comply with legal, safety, platform, and audit obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal data. We may share information in these limited cases:
- With service providers that host, store, monitor, secure, or support FocusCat services, only as needed to provide those services.
- With sign-in providers such as Google when you choose to use those providers.
- With app stores or payment processors if purchases are offered. Payment card details are handled by the platform payment provider; FocusCat receives purchase and entitlement information rather than your full payment card number.
- With authorities or other parties when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
- As part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
5. Third-Party SDKs and Services
FocusCat may use platform services and third-party tools for authentication, app distribution, payment processing, hosting, storage, monitoring, diagnostics, or analytics. These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We require providers that process user data for FocusCat to use appropriate safeguards and not use FocusCat data for unrelated advertising purposes.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the app, maintaining account progress, resolving support issues, security, audit, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and backup recovery. Gameplay and account records are generally retained while your account remains active. Telemetry, logs, and operational records may be retained for shorter periods unless needed for security, debugging, audit, or legal reasons.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- You can choose whether to use optional sign-in features such as Google sign-in where available.
- You can manage Android permissions through device settings, including Usage Access, overlay permission, notifications, and battery optimization settings.
- You can stop using Deep Focus features if you do not want FocusCat to use the related device permissions.
- You may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data by using the developer contact listed on the app store page or the in-app support/contact channel when available.
- You may ask us to delete your FocusCat account and associated data. Some records may be retained if required for legal, security, fraud prevention, payment, dispute, or audit reasons.
8. Account Deletion
If FocusCat lets you create or link an account, you can request account deletion through the in-app support/contact channel when available, or through the developer contact listed on the app store page. Please include the FocusCat user ID or the account sign-in method you used so we can locate the account. After verifying the request, we will delete or anonymize account data that is not required to be retained for legitimate reasons such as security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, payment disputes, or audit records.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls, token-based authentication, request IDs for debugging, and protected storage for backend records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect FocusCat data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
10. Children
FocusCat is not directed to children under 13 or to any child below the minimum age required by local law to use online services without parental consent. If you believe a child provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us through the developer contact listed on the app store page so we can review and delete the information where required.
11. International Processing
FocusCat services may be operated from or processed in countries other than your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal data.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when FocusCat features, data practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will show a new "Last updated" date. If changes materially affect your privacy rights, we will provide additional notice where required.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, data requests, or account deletion requests, use the developer contact listed on the FocusCat app store page where you downloaded the app, or the in-app support/contact channel when available.
